Baby Jake is two months old already! It feels like only yesterday, we were bringing him home from the hospital. Although I am sad he is getting so big, I must say I don't miss the sleep deprivation and eating every three hours. (Him, not me. :P) At least now he will sleep from midnight to somewhere between 5-6a consistently. He is more alert is seems every day, and he is cooing and finding his own voice. He is becoming very strong with his arms and legs, and his neck muscles. We are very excited about this. He can hold his head straight ahead on his shoulders for longer periods, and can *almost* turn his head from one side to the other laying on his belly. He has to lift his head for a few minutes at a time to do this, so we are thrilled! We do our PT every day at home, but, as of now, he does not need any early intervention or PT coming to the house. Many children with hydro develop low muscle tone and CP, but Jake's muscles are strong and he is very active. We are so grateful for this! He smiles all of the time, especially right after a bottle, at his own voice, and at his Meme. That's right, mommy and daddy take care of him all day and night, and who does he smile at the very most? Meme, that's who! Dave says he must already know that Meme's house is like Disneyland - "The happiest place on earth!"
Every Monday, (the day Jake was born) we are reminded how grateful we are for our precious gift. I will never see Monday mornings the same way!
