Two Doctors-1 Week !

We had a very busy week last week, and even though I took some cute pictures I haven't had the time yet to upload them. I just wanted to take a minute to update Jake's last two doctors appointments before Monday. The urologist looked at Jake and said that we could wait and do surgery for his hypospadias. Probably when he is around 6 months old, unless he has to have another surgery, and then we might be able to do them together. However, we don't want any more surgeries, so we are praying for a single surgery at 6 months.
Also, Jake went to see the NSG this week. We are so blessed to have the most fabulous doctors and we love them so much! (Just wanted to throw that in their for all of you who know him!) Anyway, he is pleased with Jake's shunt, and also said that the pocket of fluid in the back of his head is not a concern and dosen't need surgery. He said it will continue to get smaller as his plates come together. Unfortunately, he did see two small pockets of fluid in Jake's brain. He thinks that this is just a few small pockets that developed as Jake's brain was/is expanding. He isn't worried, and said they will most likely just re-absorb. But, mostly to get a frame of reference, he is scheduling Jake for an MRI on Tuesday. Although the MRI is obviously painless, we had hoped that Jake wouldn't have to go under anesthesia again anytime soon! Also, he cannot have formula after 4 and his procedure isn't until 11:30, so we are going to have one upset, hungry little boy! The NSG didn't want to expose Jake to radiation through a CT scan yet, considering if his shunt ever malfunctions, he would have to have one. So, this is our next option. Even though it will be stressful, we are thankful that we are only looking at some small pockets of fluid and (hopefully) nothing more significant.
Please pray for our little man (and for mommy) as we have Jake's procedure on Tuesday. I will post some more pictures soon. (I know the posts are not as much fun without pictures! ) Thank you!!
